Our monthly conference was held on 23rd of June, 2010 at Polgahawela, Kurunegala. The following decisions were made in this meeting.

1. A committee was appointed to form a strong remonstrance against animal sacrifice. Chairman: Dr. Nalin Rajapaksa
2. National Dog Sterilization Programme is currently operated in only 4 districts. A decision was made to call a meeting with the Hon. Health Minister and other Officials to commence the programme in other districts immediately. Responsibility: Dr. Chamith Nanayakkara
3. The Elephant – Human Conflict is becoming a major problem in some areas. A committee was appointed to investigate about the problem and provide a scientific solution to resolve it. Chairman: Dr. Anuranga Bandara
4. Next Scientific Session will be organized on Anesthetic Combinations used in Dog Sterilization. Speaker: Dr. Niranjala de Silva, Responsibility on Organizing: Dr. Udaya Wijewardhana
5. Model of Rabies Awareness Programme in Kundasale MOH Area Planning and Implementation, Responsibility: Dr. Upul Sagaratillake
6. Qualified Veterinarian Surgeons are waiting to work for the country, unemployed. A committee was appointed to discuss with the relevant authorities to employ them immediately. Chairman: Dr. Pubudu Samaraweera
